2027 Nissan Z

2027 Nissan Z

The 2027 Nissan Z arrives at Northland Nissan with a front-end design pulled straight from the model’s own history, alongside genuine mechanical upgrades rather than styling alone. Z NISMO gains an available six-speed manual transmission for the first time, backed by lighter GT-R-derived front brake rotors and a suspension retune to match. Every 2027 Z, regardless of grade, also picks up a redesigned fuel tank meant to keep fuel delivery consistent through hard cornering. The car’s fundamentals stay the same: a twin-turbocharged V6, rear-wheel drive, and a driver-focused two-seat cabin. Northland Nissan has the full Sport, Performance, and NISMO lineup ready for drivers across north-central British Columbia to see in person.

What’s new on the 2027 Nissan Z?

Exterior

Nissan’s designers went back to the S30 — the original 240Z — for inspiration on the 2027 Z’s new split grille, marked by a body-colour bar through its centre. A Z-branded emblem now sits where the Nissan badge used to be, a callback shared with the S30, S130, Z31, and Z32 generations. Making room for the new grille shape meant reworking the front parking sensor packaging without sacrificing cooling capacity to the engine.

For 2027, Performance grade gets its own set of redesigned 19-inch forged wheels, done in black spokes with a machined-finish rim and mounted with Bridgestone Potenza tires. Sport and Performance buyers can also choose a new Shinkai Green Pearl Metallic exterior, always finished with a Super Black roof. The paint mixes ultra-fine yellow and blue pigments engineered against fading, topped with a light metallic flake that catches the light along the car’s character lines — whether that’s downtown or against the forested backdrop along Highway 97. Nissan traces the colour back to Grand Prix Green, originally offered on the S30.

Interior

Inside, the 2027 Z keeps its 2-passenger, driver-oriented cabin, anchored by an 8-inch touchscreen and a fully digital TFT instrument display. Every grade includes a 3-bay gauge readout for turbocharger boost, turbine speed, and voltmeter, mounted alongside the main digital cluster. Sport grade’s 8-way manual driver’s seat comes in black woven cloth; Performance trades up to synthetic suede inserts or leather-appointed upholstery, adds seat heating for the driver, and uses its own cushion and bolster shape.

New for this model year, Performance can be ordered with a tan interior that nods to the S30’s original colour scheme, set against black upper dash and door trim for contrast. NISMO tops the cabin lineup with leather-and-Alcantara Recaro seating built specifically for that grade and matching NISMO badging. Starting the car reveals another change: Sport and Performance now play a startup animation cycling through seven generations of Z, while NISMO keeps a distinct sequence and its own meter graphics.

Powertrain

All three grades of the 2027 Z share a VR30DDTT 3.0L twin-turbocharged V6 built with a DOHC layout, direct injection, and Continuously Variable Valve Timing Control. In Sport and Performance form, that engine is rated at 400 horsepower with 350 lb-ft of torque. NISMO’s tuned version pushes that to 420 horsepower and 384 lb-ft of torque. A revised fuel tank design, new for 2027, holds fuel near the pump during sustained high-G cornering — a genuine benefit on the long, sweeping highway stretches common throughout the region.

Power reaches the rear wheels from a mid-mounted front engine on every grade. Sport, Performance, and NISMO all come standard with a 6-speed close-ratio manual and an EXEDY high-performance clutch, and a 9-speed automatic remains available on Sport and Performance. The headline change for NISMO is its newly available six-speed manual, built with a shorter shift lever ratio, an upgraded clutch, and throttle and ignition tuning calibrated for the manual gearbox specifically. Performance and NISMO both add a mechanical limited-slip differential to the mix.

Technology

2027 Nissan Z Tech

Infotainment & Audio

An 8-inch touchscreen is standard equipment across the 2027 lineup, running Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth streaming and hands-free calling, Siri Eyes Free, hands-free text messaging, and voice recognition. Sport pairs that screen with a 6-speaker Nissan audio system; Performance and NISMO instead get an 8-speaker Bose system with Active Noise Cancellation and Active Sound Enhancement, both retuned this year to work with the new manual option. Performance and NISMO further add NissanConnect with WiFi hotspot access and NissanConnect Services telematics.

Driver-Assist & Convenience

Driver-assist technology is consistent across the range, with Automatic Emergency Braking featuring Pedestrian Detection, Predictive Forward Collision Warning, Blind Spot Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Intelligent Cruise Control, a RearView Monitor, and front and rear parking sensors all standard. Performance and NISMO also offer a new Qi2 wireless charger capable of up to 15 watts, with magnetic alignment and a cooling fan to manage device heat on longer drives.

Versions

Northland Nissan stocks all three 2027 Z grades. Sport sits at the entry point on 18-inch Gray Metallic alloy wheels with Yokohama ADVAN Sport tires and fixed 2-piston front, single-piston rear calipers. Performance moves up to 19-inch RAYS forged wheels, Bridgestone Potenza tires, larger floating 4-piston front and 2-piston rear calipers in red, a front chin spoiler, rear spoiler, heated mirrors, and the option of the new tan interior. NISMO leads the lineup with NISMO-tuned suspension and steering, two-piece GT-R-derived front brake rotors that cut 19 pounds versus the previous setup, a three-piece rear spoiler, black “katana” blade trim, and NISMO-exclusive fascias, grille, and side sills, now buildable with either the new six-speed manual or the NISMO-tuned 9-speed automatic.
